Makeup Geek Palette Review! Makeup Revolution

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Hey there Turtle doves! I hope everyone is having an awesome week, I know my own is looking up and i wish all my lovelies the same. Part of my lovely week was an order from Makeup Revolution that i thought would be in a week later in coming if not more. Shipping across the Atlantic can be a time consuming thing so that it got here in under two weeks was so so exciting to me! Now I have a load of goodies that im going to want to review for you, some in little groups and others all on their own. And the one thing I have been coveting since i saw Miss Budget Beauty do five looks in five days with it, is the Makeup Geek Palette. So that will be the thing we talk about first.

Ok, first, the packaging! Now sadly in my horrible photo taking I couldnt manage to catch the holographic cover. But if you shift the palette the word Geek goes from black to blue and it is so adorable. My daughter was fascinated with it the entire time i was doing my makeup this morning. The case is a hard plastic with a secure clasp, and it all feels very firm, safe, with a large mirror perfect for doing your makeup (Its what I used today.) The packaging gets an A+ from this girl.

Next I want to talk about the color selection that this palette has to offer. With a mixture of matte and shimmer shades and neutrals to jewel tones you really can accomplish so many looks with this. The colors are laid out with an almost rainbow feel, and the color groupings if you go row by row in the palette can help those newer with makeup pick looks. You of course can dip from any pot you would like but having complimentary colors together is a helpful addition. Also, you get a grand total of 36 colors. Only about 6 are without total shimmer BUT if you are a lover of shimmer like myself this isnt a problem.

Now i know what you are all wanting to know... how are the shadows themselves. And in a word? Amazing! Yes, the more matte a shade is the harder it is for blending, and they can have a smidge of fall out as with any shadow. But they are by no means impossible to work with. And on the skin? Like butter. They are soft and almost creamy and for powder shadows that is saying something. They are soft so when blending you have to be careful not to blend to much and lose some of your color power. But if your not extra heavy with the blending brush then you are golden.

Now these are a couple of random swatches. I dont really have the arm space for 36 swatches but I think from these you can see that the pigmentation and color pay off is amazing. This is with no primer, straight finger to arm swipe. And speaking from someone who has been wearing the shadows all day, again with no extra primer, they have such a staying power. And the cost for all of this beautiful? £7.99 or $13.17 is what i paid after the exchange rate. So uber affordable to boot. You can pick up the palette HERE!

What do you lovelies think of this palette? Something you might want to pick up for yourself? Any other goodies from Makeup Revolution you would recommend? Feel free to leave any and all suggestions below!

I Covet Thee! Beauty Brands to try! Bubblemoonuk!

Monday, October 13, 2014

Hey there turtle doves! I was just looking through the old wish lists i have and realized some are so drastically out of date. I have so many new things i am after, especially with the Christmas season coming. So over the next week im going to run a series, of brands that i am so excited to try, have such cool packaging and reviews and that i myself cant wait to get my hands on.

Now Bubblemoonuk is a site i came across completely by accident. From a random follow on twitter i got to peruse their products, which are a wide variety as their twitter says, "A official stockist of Miss Patisserie and bomb cosmetics products." They have everything from candles to bath bombs and lip salves. All adorably packaged and so affordable. Its like a boutique feel, and all delivered right to your door. Now i want to show you two bits i have been eyeing for a while from their site.

Now these are two sets that i have been thinking for a while would make some epic gifts, and they are so gender natural that anyone of any age could enjoy. I love the idea of themed sets and the price point cant be beat. Some of their sets are less them £10! The most expensive on the site are on sale right now for £23 and come in adorable keepsake tins. And even if you are outside of the UK with the exchange rate you are still getting an awesome deal for what you get, especially if you are thinking gifts. With sets like this you can break it up into smaller stocking stuffers or spoil someone in your life with all of the goodies that come within. It really is a deal that cant be beat.

The next couple bits are my own personal wish list, and things i am so excited to one day try.
*Weekend in Provence £23.00
*Chilly Willy Candle £7.50
*Juicy Pineapple Intense Lip Treatment £2.50
* Passionfruit Lip Tint £3.80

All look so nice and i really am so keen to try them. To find these and all the amazing products that Bubblemoonuk has to offer you can visit their site HERE!

So ladies and gent question of the day to help a spendaholic, are their any beauty and pamper brands or sites that i need to add to my ever growing wish list?

Winter Purse Essentials!

Friday, October 10, 2014

Hey there turtle doves! With the weather changing i dont know about you but i have been struggling with the cold as it also means dryness. If you are anything like me, its extra brutal because my already dry skin is now struggling in dryer air for much needed moisture.

I thought i would share some of the things i carry with me at all times for the various dryness problems that come my way. Now obviously some products work better for different skin types so when your looking for your perfect match you might need a more mild or intense option but always remember, lips skin and hair all need a little extra tenderness in the colder months.

Starting from the top so we can work our way down lets talk about hair. Now some girls are blessed with thick locks that are glossy and perfect and beautiful. I am not one of those girls. Sadly i have massive curls that are very frizzy, and my locks are thinner so the body the curls gives is an allusion to the volume i actually have. Its a bit of a struggle for me to keep any shine in my hair on a regular basis, and in the winter its even harder. The line, or range of products i have found that help give me stronger glossy hair is Organix. They have shampoos, conditioners, style products and my holy grail status stuff, the hair oils. I havent found one of their oils that havent helped return some shine to my hair. Specifically he Moroccan oils (Pictured) and the Kui Kui oil (Nots pictured) They have them in oils you can pour and apply with your fingertips or in spray bottles and over all help the shine of your hair. No matter if im heat treating my hair or letting it dry naturally they never fall short on me.

Next we have skin, which no doubt everyone needs a little extra love and attention paid to come the colder months. For my im always a dry person, so lotions and body butters are something i am very well versed in. For everyday use, i love this Queen Helene Cocoa Butter. Its not as thick as other brands but still smells sweet and is buttery soft. Because i have more breakout prone skin i reserve body butters for a more once a week deep conditioning of my skin. And if thats the kind of care your skin might need everyday The body shop body butters and Soap and Glory have the ones i fall back on, and on my pamper nights they really do make me feel silky smooth. For hands the lotion pictured above as well as some Hand Food again by soap and glory are god sends. After every hand wash its imprtant to put the moisture back into your skin so having one in your bag is super important.

And lastly what might be the most important, your lips! Now i know some people again have soft supple lips and i used to be one of them.... a moment of silence for my pouty lips please ..... Ok i kid. Well I halfway kid. See i have anxiety and one of my little ticks is that i pick. I used to bite my nails, and managed to stop after years of the bad habit. But now unfortunately i pick my lips, its not a conscious decision but it does happen. So i need something not only to combat my seasonally dry lips but the damage i do myself. There are some things that feel ok, Baby Lips and EOS are scattered around my house. But only two have ever really made my lips feel back to normal again. One is the Nivea touch of milk and honey (Not pictures thanks to my lovely daughter messing the product. The second and holy grail id have to buy again and again is the Vaseline Rosy Lips. Both i can put on before bed and i wake with the softest, and sadly pickable, lips. They really are miracle products and if you got only one thing for lip protection you should certainly invest.

What are some of the things you ladies are loving to survive this cold weather all silky smooth?

The American Tag!

Tuesday, October 7, 2014

Im kinda a sucker for tags i will admit, they are fun and things everyone can try, im all around a supporter. And ive noticed one i have loved seeing going around, the British tag. Being that a part of my is so sad im not British ive loved reading those and seeing the youtube videos done on the tag. But that got me to wondering was there one for me? See im American ad i thought pretty vainly i would find one for us easily, or possibly more then one. So i was shocked when goggle searched turned up stuffy old company web pages and nothing that i was looking for. So how do i change that? Well i write up a tag myself of course!

Now as im from the USA ive got my flag up there because i think its prettyful haha. But this is im hoping, going to be broad enough that anyone from North or South America can have a fun and easy time answering the questions ^_^

The Questions-

1) What country are you from? The United States of America
2) Do you call it football or soccer? Soccer but football to those who call it football.
3) Favorite holiday? (Can be one you do or dont get off for school from) Christmas obviously is top choice. But i also love St. Paddys Day.... you get to be Irish for a day and drink green beer. Disgusting stuff but loads of fun!
4) Soda or pop? Soda
5) Hoagie or Sub? Hoagie
6) Hotdogs or Hamburgers? Burgers hands down.
7) How many cups of coffee in a day? (Iced or hot) None i hate coffee with a passion
8) Favorite food? I really really LOVE my grandmas rice. But something everyone can get? Pizza, all the way.
9) American Idol or X factor? Ive seen a couple of the early seasons of American Idol but never any of X factor so theres that lol.
10) Baseball, Basketball, Football or Soccer? Football
11) Sports team your family goes nuts over? Philadelphia Eageles (Football team)
12) Favorite slang word/term? Really just anything where i can drop the g on the end. Like Ridin, Rollin.... Im just very lazy is all.
13) Old wives tale to live by? If you get a chill up your back or goosebumps, it means that someone is walking over your grave. ALSO If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck . Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names. (Side note mine has 16)
14) Favorite song? My all time favorite song isnt by americans.... bad me lol. So for the sake of the tag anything ever by Eminem or Blink 182? Also this....

15) Famous parting words! "But I'm a fucking demon." Jason Lee as Azreal in Dogma >.<

Ok i had a little more fun with that then i meant to. And i hope nobody takes offense as its all in good fun. Its totally ok if your family tailgates, drink coffee like its water or you like halloween for the free candy. I think its our quirks that make us awesome so rock them like they are going out of style ^_^

Walmart Beauty Haul!

Monday, October 6, 2014

Hey there turtle doves! So this last weekend I got a little shopping in and I thought I would share it with you. This doesnt include what I got online (Spoiler there will be another haul coming soon) But I hit Walmart for some basics for surviving and thought why dont I see if they have a nice brown lip liner.... and of course I came out with so much more then I should have.

I started actually looking for the lip liner I needed, but everything else kinda happened, and im sorry im not sorry.

Now they didnt have the color I wanted but i did snag two wet n' wild liners, both in different berry tones (Willow & Brandy Wine) which are good for the season. Directly behind that display is the Rimmel one so I then decided that I should get another Stay Matte foundation in a lighter color as the summer colors dont work for my ever fading skin just now. And possibly the thing I love most out of this trip is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal liner. Ive played with it a few times already and i might be obsessed. It might actually be taking the place of my Lord & Berry liner and at $4 you cant beat the price.

My quest for the perfect 90's lip has continued and I picked up two Mauve toned nudes, Maybelline Colorsensational in Rum Riche and Flower Kiss Stick in Tea Rose. Flower is one of the brands I swear I dont hear enough about and this lipstick proves that to me. The colors are both amazing and depending on your skin tone are the perfect nudes.

Then I came across something I have been dying to dry and sadly didnt get in last months Ipsy bag. Sally Hansens new Miracel Gel polish. Which can I say again amazing? I have tried it and so far i have had it on for three days. Now im someone who washes my hands like I have OCD. I have to keep my hands under the water for a certain amount of time, use a certain amount of soap, but so far this hasnt chipped at all. With the strain on my hands with two kids it really can claim to be a miracle.

Lastly were a couple of odds and ends that i saw and grabbed. I needed a new hair oil mist and Organix is really the only brand for it. I usually get the KuiKui oil but as they didnt have it in stock i grabbed the coconut instead. I also got a new sharpener from wet n' wild and I dont know the brand of the adorable eyelash curler. For only $1 though i thought it was worth a try and my lovely mother has once again stolen my other eyelash curlers.

Is there anything i should keep look out for on my next weekly shopping trip? Anything you lovelies would like a better review on?

The Accent Tag!

Sunday, October 5, 2014

Hey turtle doves! So today i decided to do something a little bit different as a thank you. See yesterday i was looking over my blog stats (Something i didnt really know about or how to work or check haha) And i saw something that completely shocked me. Though it might not seem like much to others at all when i saw i had almost 400 blog hits from countries all around the world i was blown away. It know it might seem so insignificant to others but to me each and every one of those hits means the world to me.

Im just so beyond amazed that so many people have seen fit to take a peek at the words i write or the things i care about. And im so grateful to each and everyone one of you truly. So, to kind of commemorate for what to me is a huge deal i decide to try doing a tag that i felt was a little more worldly. The accent tag, which i found on tumblr and always wanted to try over there. So im doing it here for you guys... so here we go! (Warning, the last 15 seconds has cursing so if you dont like sailor talk just click off before the final three word send off! <3)

The Questions...

Your name and username.
Where you’re from.
Pronounce the following words: Aunt, Roof, Route, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Pajamas, Caught, Naturally, Aluminium, GIF, Tumblr, Crackerjack, Doorknob, Envelope, GPOY.
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
Choose a book and read a passage from it.
Do you think you have an accent?
Be a wizard or a vampire?
Do you know anyone on Tumblr in real life?
End audio post by saying any THREE words you want.

I know, no video only audio, but im taking baby steps because i have some pretty high anxiety and im just not ready for that yet. Also since we are here and talking about things all worldly like i have some questions for you lovelies. Is there anything you would like to see more of? Things that maybe are more popular in other countries that im not hitting on because they arent relevant or havent hit yet in the US? Because if so and you want to see it just drop me a word and i promise to try and get that up for you ASAP. You can always catch me in the comments here, the email listed off to the side and also on Twitter and on Instagram, so please dont ever be shy. Or if you are shy when you can say hi and we can work on our shyness together!

Hope you lovelies are having an Epic weekend ^_^

September Favorites!!!

Saturday, October 4, 2014

Hello there turtle doves! September is one of the busiest months of the year and for good reason. With the season changing and summer ending it proves to be busy, people especially kids or those with kids have to get back into the swing of things and it can be a stressful time. Being one of those people with kids its been an adjustment period for me. But though that has prevented me from post my Saturday staples this last month is hasnt prevented me from using and loving things and thats what i am here to share with you lot today. Here is everything, in beauty, entertainment and life that i have been loving this month.

Makeup wise i havent been going crazy with trying new things though i do have alot on the way i cant wait to use! But this has been the most reached for lately and current in my everyday makeup bag.

The Products-

* Rimmel Scandeleyes Retro Glam Mascara
* Little Mix By Collection Full On Mascara
* Baby Lips in Grape
* Caitlyn Tinted Lip Gloss in Basic Instinct
* Lord & Berry Silk Kohl Kajal Liner
* Revlon Colorstay Lipliner in Nude
* MAC Lipstick in Hug Me

So im also currently reading Dragonfly In Amber and the feels are strong!

As for the music i have been loving lets be real it was all about one direction this month! And while Fireproof came out first i still dont know all those words. But Steal My Girl i have on a loop and im not the least bit sorry.

Makeup crush Friday! Cara Delevingne

Friday, September 26, 2014

Hey there turtle doves! So when i was thinking about who next to feature on a makeup crush Friday i was torn. Ive done an actress, and a singer, should i keep going for diverse job wise? Then i realized who i wanted to use and she made the choice for me! Cara Delevingne is an English Model and really just so epically beautiful. And she has the it feature of the last year in spades.

As someone born with a really strong brow it is so reassuring to me to see this trend... ten years ago plucking them into nothing was a thing and it was very painful with as full as my brow is. But now we are not only taught to embrace them, but shape them, fill them in properly and rock them like they are a staple handbag or pair of shoes, fiercely. Cara is the embodiment of this for me and the reason why i chose her today. Usually people will see light hair and assume that your brows should be weaker, Cara dances that fine line of being a blonde and having firm brows that aren't totally brown.

For me ive never had this problem as i have chocolate brown hair its easy to match my brows. And i have a ton of brow products because of that. Below im going to feature some of my favorites, the things i just cant live without when im putting on my face. I use both drug store and high end so there is a little something for everyone and all price points.

The Products-
* Elf Eyebrow Kit
* Anastasia Brow Wiz
* NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder
* Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

Are their any brow products im totally missing out on? Anything you lovely ladies use to rock the epic Cara brows?

UK Wish List!

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Hey there turtle doves! So as pretty much everyone who knows me knows, im going to let you in on a little secret. I am completely obsessed with the UK and Ireland. Like i fully believe i was from one or both places at some point in a previous life. There is something about England, Scotland Wales and Ireland that just gets me. Maybe the accents that change every twenty miles or so (And how jealous i am of each and every one as we Americans got jipped on the accents) or the amazing landscapes, or the centuries of history in one place. But obsessed about covers it.

Now since i am completely obsessed i know alot of what gets released in the UK beauty wise... and so very much of it i want its not even funny, haha. But here is a list of a few of the things i am seriously lusting after that are really hard to get in the U.S.

The Products-

* Max Factor 2000 Calorie Dramatic Volume Mascara in Black
* Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick (Like every shade haha, but especially Nude-ist, Grand Cru, & Hot Pepper)
* Barry M Nail paint
* Makeup Revolution Makeup Geek Pallet
* Makeup Revolution Blushing hearts Blushers, (Also the highlight which isnt pictured)
* Barry M Kohl Liner in Black
* Collection Lasting Perfection concealer

What are some of the things you lovelies would like you just cant get at home? Any things i should be lusting after i simply dont know about yet?

Back to school makeup bag

Saturday, September 20, 2014

Hey there turtle doves! So its fairly obvious i have been MIA the last couple of weeks and thats because summer is gone and fall is upon us. My favorite time of year might i add. But with the coming of fall also means some daily structure changes as kids return to school and adults have to work around it all. But that change in my life of getting my son off to school and doing homework nightly have inspired me to do this post.

Back when i was in school i was that girl that wore makeup, a full face of it. But i know thats not for everyone. Also i know alot of schools internationally have very different rules on whats appropriate for school. So i compiled a little list of the basic things that can give you a fresh and flawless yet not overdone face.

List of must haves-

*BB or CC cream (The one pictured above is great for acne prone skin. But if you are blessed with clear skin something with less product or skipping this all together would be preferable)
*Concealer. For either blemishes or dark circles, whatever problems you might have and want to hide.
*A face powder, something to set any creams you use or help with oil control is a must especially when you need your makeup to last 8 whole hours of a school day.
*Little eye shadow trios/quads are great for on the run, and simple colors like Wet N Wild walking on eggshells (Pictured) work well on many complexions and help accentuate your eyes without over doing it.
*A solid liner, wet, pencil or gel is a must and ca be a way to play up your makeup without going overboard.
*Mascara for all beauties like me with not the longest lashes is a must, also colored Mascaras if your school allows could be a fun addition to your look.
*If you like a little color on your cheeks then simple little brushes of blush or bronzer can help to warm up and brighten your face.
*Lip care is key for long hours out. If your a no color kind of girl then a lip balm or butter is needed and you can apply without a mirror. If you prefer a little tint something glossy but with moisture is a must. Are their any products you are loving for this school year? Wonders the rest of the world should discover?

August favorites!

Sunday, August 31, 2014

Another month has come and gone and is it sad to say i am so excited?? August in Jersey means alot more rain, and humidity, and while hurricane season here has been amazing for us (We havent had any) its still not good weather. Im just so keen for fall, i miss UGG weather like you wouldnt believe actually. But im rambling, and here and no we all wanna chat about the things i have been loving this month.

* First thing i have been loving is my pink Betsey Johnson makeup bag. In all honesty, i have 3, plus four of her bags, one laptop case and a really adorable wallet. If i had to pick one designer to wear for the rest of my life it would be the beautiful Betsey Johnson. And this bag speficifcally, all pink and black and beautiful has been in heavy rotation.

* Next has been my Organix Kukui oil. A life saver for my hair, its really the only thing that keeps my ends from looking like straw. And in the summer thats always so much more likely that it has been used double time. The bottle in the picture is my second and you see the dent in it already? Holy grail status ladies and always a repurchase.

* For the first time this month i cleaned by beauty blender, cause im a dirty girl of course, but the cleanser it came with is amazing! I used it for my beauty blender, and it was so easily cleaned. And man was it dirty before. I also used it on my two dirtiest brushes, the ones i use for blush and bronzer and they look brand new. I got this, in a set twi two beauty blenders on amazon for about $30.

* My Lord and Bsrry silk Kajal liner has inspired a full on lord and berry order so thank you ipsy! Its fast becoming my favorite.

* Urban Decays perversion mascara is another thats taking over with being used every time i wear makeup. When my sample runs out i will be picking up the full size.

* Ive been loving red lips this month, specifically 107 and 111 in the Rimmel Kate Moss collection.

* Ive also been loveing the LA colors new glosses, every single one i have is perfection and i own four and they have been worn daily.

* And my last epic favorite are my new sunglasses! Pretty sure they are from walmart. They were a gift from my cousin and im obsessed. They are patterned and teal and amazing. They are so me and i love them so.

A few other things i have been loving this month... Ive started watching Greys Anatomy on Netflix and omg im so sad im ten years late on this! lol. Also i have been loving the new songs by Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora, Black Widow, and Bang Bang by Jessie J Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.

What things have you lovelies been loving this month? Any new things i simply have to try?

Saturday staples.... On Sunday!

Sunday, August 24, 2014

Im such a slacker I know! And I do apologize my loves for being MIA so much last week. And I missed my weekly favorites, sadly family issues arose. But I am back and wanting to share all of the amazing things I have been obsessed with this week!

Firstly two random bits i have been loving are this mirror that i literally got for $1, and its a really nice size. Inside it has twi different mirrors, one normal and one more in your face literally. But its tiny and fits in your makeup bag perfectly. The second is this pair of earrings. I got them on sale for about $13 at target and they are real sterling silver ^_^

*Urban Decays Perversion Mascara
*Butter London Lippy - Tea with the queen
*LA Colors Lipstick - Natural Shine
*Milani High speed fast dry - Rapid Orchid

Also i have been binge watching the episodes i missed of Defiance the last couple weeks and OMG, if you havent seen this show they have season one on Amazon Prime and season two right now on Demand with the season premiere this Thursday on Syfy

What have you beauties been loving this week? Anything new out there i need to try? Have an epic week my dears!

Urbandecay Pulp Fiction Limited Edition Review

Tuesday, August 19, 2014

There is something about limited edition that gives me excited tingles, like how when you were little you couldnt sleep Christmas eve, or if Halloween fell on a school day and the only talk was about costumes and not multiplication tables. Limited edition is my adult Halloween and Urban Decay is legit like my Santa (Ok so maybe if gone off the deep end with this comparison). But recently Urban Decay came out with a limited edition line, all centered around the 20th Anniversary of the cult classic film Pulp Fiction Below is my views on what i picked up from the line and if it is worth the money.
The mother load in this collection is the pallet which retails for $34 and is a four pan set up in a cardboard but magnetically closed little compact. For those out there who love urban decay you know Matte shades arent what they are know for, bold beautiful and lots of shine and glitter are usually the call of the day. So i was pleasantly surprised to see that three shades in this are totally matte with two, the lightest of the bunch, having a slight sheen, one more intense then the other. She shadows arent small and will last a while as most shadows really do. But what we really want to know it the stay power right?
As is the standard with UD shadows these do not disappoint. They are so soft, and blendable and the staying power is intense. I used a simple Elf primer on my lips the first time i used these and by the end of the night my eyes were the only thing still in place. They are colors you can build to bold or keep simple and everyday wear, for work or for school, and are a sound investment for any UD lover who doesnt have neutral shadows in matte from them. So you probably have dupes for there? Sure, its possible with nudes especially, but for those who love, collect makeup or just really like Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction, this is a must.
The next things i picked up, almost a week after i had my pallet to play with, and that was the liner and lipstick in the set, both aptly named Mia Wallace. They are in the same packaging as UD's other liners and lipsticks but the boxes were special packaging.
The Lipstick is so creamy when going on can you say love? This is my first Urban Decay lipstick and all i can think of is getting more. They are so creamy and moisturizing. I thought that without a doubt because they were so creamy it would have no staying power but even worn alone without the liner i still had lipstick on after i ate dinner! It feels so smooth on and the color is PERFECT to usher in the cooler fall weather that will be on its way soon!
I have learned that not all lipliners are created equal. I do have some drug store ones im in love with (And will do a post about for you guys soon) But my baby when it comes to liner, lip and eye alike, is Urban Decay. Usually i do my nude lips with UD liner because of the staying power and i wasnt dissapointed with this one. ITs so creamy and pigmented that it could be worn alone, or with a gloss, or paired with the lipstick. There really is no short coming for this liner at all and i think everyone should have atleast one UD liner even if its not from this collection.
The swatches here, as well as the ones above, are all single swiped onto my skin, so imagine building these colors, with a light or heavy hand the staying power is so intense!
What do you guys think of this line? Will you be picking up any of the bits they have? Any others you know of coming out soon you cant wait to get your hands on?

Have a wonderful Tuesday ladies!

August Ipsy Bag!

Monday, August 18, 2014

August usually isn't my month. Here in the north east we get lots of rain, intense heat and 100% humidity all day everyday. The one thing that really has been something I'm looking forward to is Ipsy! And this months bag was one of my favorites! Wanna see what I got?
Now this months theme was school, and with some already back and other heading there I thought that was a very cute idea.
The bag is white and tangerine, with a plain white interior. It's long and very like a pencil case which is fitting with the theme. It's a nice size, and it fits nicely in my purse though it also would serve as a really cute pencil case for any ipsy subbie who might need it.
The first product is one I actually already have but really nobody can have to many primers right? It is the pores no more by dr Brandt. I've not used it a lot and not a great smell but it does do the job though I don't have large pores primers help as I prefer bb creams over heavy foundations.
The second is. Lip balm and I actually have this as well but again something you can never have to much of. Though if I don't use my other soon I'll probably gift it to my mom. But I love the absolute New York balms and own three to date.
Next was something I was really excited about as I own zero Costal Scents things and it takes me forever to hit pan on a blush. It's a fun little duo and handy for travel. And yes that is a coupon code given to us for more makeup fun so everyone who needs it go for it ^_^
Now this lord & berry kajal kohl liner is a tiny sample that's true but it's still something I was so excited to try and from the two times I've used it since I got my bag it's amazing! It has staying power and I've needed makeup wipes and an oil to remove it completely from my eyes.
And the last product, and one I've been so so so excited about was the new Urban decay perversion mascara! I've used this everyday since I got it and I'm so in love. It lengthens so much and gives me some curl so I haven't touched my lash curler all week! I'm in love and will be getting the full size when this one is done. It might even be upsetting my holy grail better then sex mascara, I know I was shocked to!

What did you lovelies get in your ipsy bags this month and did you love it?

My Freeman's Collection!

Thursday, August 14, 2014

There are some days that are just rough. Heavy day at school, hectic one at work, family issues or relationship problems. When we have times like this we find ways to comfort ourselves. For me, it's pampering, and i prefer pampering on a budget. I do have some high end bits but when it comes to this I go with old faithful, the things that have been comforting me since I was in high school. Freeman's make amazing masks and for under 5 bucks you can't beat how they help after a hard day.
Now these are completely different types of masks. Some are peel offs, some scrubs, some are moisturizing and some are drying, they really do have something for every type. Depends on what are you looking for. The ones I have I use for different bits and at different times. You can do a whole facial, like I can with these, for under $20 which is amazing quality and quantity. And best yet you can find these at any drug store. There are ways to turn a tiny fund for pampering into date nights with yourself. Maybe that should be a new series featured here on the blog? Pampering on a budget. What do you guys think?

Saturday staples!

Saturday, August 9, 2014

Another Saturday has come, another weekend started and sadly ending all to soon. So i thought we could have a little chat about the things i have been loving

Now this week i have been really having some skin issues. As im sure all ladies can attest when its that special/horrible time we get aches and pains and in my case not so pretty skin. I was a teenage with a flawless complexion so know this pains me greatly. But because i really wanted to let my skin breathe and heal this last week. So these have been my go toos for the healing process. It was a very drug store kinda week.

The Products
* Little Mix by Collection Full on Mascara
* Ulta Automatic Liner - Black
* Maybelline Master Precise By EyeStudio - Black
* Maybelline Dream Pure BB
* Elf Glossy Gloss - Sweet Salmon
* L'oreal Glossy Balm - Ginger Candy
* Fergie Wet & Wild - Fergie Daily
* Revlon Colorstay lipliner - Natural

Now ive only rocked the BB cream twice, because i have been trying to let my skin clear. But when i have this is the one i choose because it does have 2% Salicylic Acid which helps in acne treatment. My daily moisturizer has .5% so i try not to over do it because it can make your skin very sensitive to the sun.

Makeup aside i have been finishing up season 2 of Hemlock Grove which can we just say, amazing! Creepy and out there but im obsessed. And my son pick this week, which i couldnt get in the picture because my ipod has gone MIA has to me Maps by Maroon 5, and yes i have pre-ordered the new album, ive been in love with them since i was in high school!

What things have you lovelies been gaga over this week? Anything new i should be trying?
