Back to school makeup bag

Saturday, September 20, 2014

Hey there turtle doves! So its fairly obvious i have been MIA the last couple of weeks and thats because summer is gone and fall is upon us. My favorite time of year might i add. But with the coming of fall also means some daily structure changes as kids return to school and adults have to work around it all. But that change in my life of getting my son off to school and doing homework nightly have inspired me to do this post.

Back when i was in school i was that girl that wore makeup, a full face of it. But i know thats not for everyone. Also i know alot of schools internationally have very different rules on whats appropriate for school. So i compiled a little list of the basic things that can give you a fresh and flawless yet not overdone face.

List of must haves-

*BB or CC cream (The one pictured above is great for acne prone skin. But if you are blessed with clear skin something with less product or skipping this all together would be preferable)
*Concealer. For either blemishes or dark circles, whatever problems you might have and want to hide.
*A face powder, something to set any creams you use or help with oil control is a must especially when you need your makeup to last 8 whole hours of a school day.
*Little eye shadow trios/quads are great for on the run, and simple colors like Wet N Wild walking on eggshells (Pictured) work well on many complexions and help accentuate your eyes without over doing it.
*A solid liner, wet, pencil or gel is a must and ca be a way to play up your makeup without going overboard.
*Mascara for all beauties like me with not the longest lashes is a must, also colored Mascaras if your school allows could be a fun addition to your look.
*If you like a little color on your cheeks then simple little brushes of blush or bronzer can help to warm up and brighten your face.
*Lip care is key for long hours out. If your a no color kind of girl then a lip balm or butter is needed and you can apply without a mirror. If you prefer a little tint something glossy but with moisture is a must. Are their any products you are loving for this school year? Wonders the rest of the world should discover?

Benefit they're real push up liner- Review

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

This is the hip new thing, the liner that literally everyone (Including myself) has been talking about. It has been hyped, lusted after, but how does it work?

If you are a liner pro, if you can flick and let your liner set in seconds and look perfect this is the liner for you. The product comes out smoothly, the formula is amazing and doesn't budge, and the tip is pliable, will follow the line of your lashes perfectly if you have smooth control over it. It really is a miracle liner and i completely understand why it is so raved about.

So whats the down side? Why wont i be buying the full size? Because the same reasons its so amazing is why i would never be able to use it. As you can see from the picture below the line is smooth, you can make it thicker or thinner, and it doesnt go anywhere. But for someone like me, with a shaky hand and horrible eyesight/depth perception i need a liner thats more forgiving. Im no where near a liner pro, and i might need to remove, start again, fix, tweak and with this liner you just cant do that. Its a miracle that will stay on your face all day long, but when you have a shaky hand like mine that means you cant leave the house or you might look like a sad clown.

The Verdict? If you are a smooth liner pro, or even a novice with a smooth hand you need this liner in your life, it really cant be compared to any other liner in its staying power. But if you are still learning your perfect flick? Maybe pass until your more sure of your hand because this is one epically tough liner.
