Next In Reading ~ Summer 2016

Friday, June 24, 2016

Sometime when im in reading I need to change things up, to avoid a slump. For maybe a solid two months I did all of my reading on my phone, and it actually ensured I got through alot of amazon books from Indy authors and it was awesome. But feeling a slump coming on I changed things up and picked up some physical books needing the change. Now again after getting through some honkers ive decided to show my kindle some love. I do still have to read my last Lux book but I broke that up with some kindle love which has me feeling very proud of my reading progress.

Now one book will be a physical book (Which will be marked as not pictures because well its not) And two of the list will actually be books I started months ago and let fall to the side when I gave my kindle a break. (Those will be marked with an *)

The Books-
Shadows / Opposition (Lux #0.5, #5) Jennifer L. Armentrout (Not pictured;Physical book)
Devoted in Death J.D. Robb *
The Infinite Sea Rick Yancey *
A Court of Thorns and Roses Sarah J. Maas ~ Now this one is a cheat because ive already finished it! I was so excited after taking the above photo I started it... and finished it within the next like 14 hours. It was amazing and ill be doing a review for it and the next in the series very very soon!
A Court of Mist and Fury Sarah J. Maas
The Star-Touched Queen Roshani Chokshi
Vengeance Road Erin Bowman
Ink and Bone Rachel Caine (Not pictured; E-book)

So if im heading to the beach or the lake, or snuggled up hiding from the heat in the AC these are going to be keeping me company. What are some of your most anticipated summer reads?

Current Reads

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

I have been suffering through a serious reading slump. I finished exactly no books in the month of September.... its almost embarrassing for me. I started like four but just couldnt get through anything which sucks. But these are the ones im working on, because I really do like the stories, and I want to know what happens next, but just my desire is in the dumps and I dont understand why, but I need it to stop.

The book I started with is Zombie Fallout because ive been dying for some zombies and the original The Walking Dead was still a month away. Which no fun at all. And this was a cool sit in. Sadly im struggling my way through it which doesn't reflect how amusing I think the book is. Its not scary, it makes me think of the cozy mystery version of the zombie apocalypse. But its funny, its written in diary format and so you really get this look into this guys mind as all this super crazy stuff starts going down. Not some Lit masterpiece but very entertaining and with a twist I wasn't expecting. I cant wait to see where it goes.

My starting The 5th Wave was a case of the TV made me do it. I saw a snippet of the movie trailer and it really made me want to know more. It reminded me of The Host, which was and still is one of my favorite stories. Bring on another post apocalyptic world for me. But this time instead of the living dead we have aliens. Yes im all about that life. And so far im loving it and do have the sequel waiting for me when I finish up.

Fingers crossed I can finish these and a couple more books this month because the fall is my favorite snuggle down with hot chocolate and read time and im wasting it! Any new reads I should add to my TBR pile?

Whats in my bag? Summer 2015!

Monday, August 17, 2015

Hey there my loves. A couple of weeks ago i decided to change over my purse, ive had this one waiting in the wings for a while and while the tiny bags i was using were a nice change im a big bag kind of girl. And this design was just up my ally, who wouldn't want this vintage style tattoo print of their favorite Disney princess?

Now tell me this isnt the cutest bag ever?! It makes me think of this Rockabilly Pinup girl, but its also totally my style. My favorite Disney princess printed like shes an old school sailor tattoo.... amazeballs. I got this beauty from HotTopic which is great for fandom kind of merchandise. I tried to find this bag on the site and i couldn't find it. But they do have an Alice in wonderland one Here! Just like mine it does come with a shoulder strap but i don't use mine, im more of an hand/arm bag to shoulder bags. The leather is soft and its sturdy. The bag isnt heavily structured but it doesn't fall flat the second its empty either. Now take a second to appriciate the beauty that is the print, which was really my selling point on a bag that retails just shy of $70!

Now if you are thinking about this bag or any others as an option practice smart shopping. The price tag for the purse was $69.50, but i got it for around $44. Sign up for site emails, or better yet search for coupons online if you need to check out quickly. Theres always in store and site sales, all you need is a bar-code or coupon code to scan or input to get amazing deals. Ill outline some of my bargain shopping tips in another post, how to get clothes beauty and books for steals! And now for a little peak at what is inside of my bag!

Inside the Bag-
*Marvel Notebook- My Blogging notebook, for ideas, lists, keeping thoughts together because i have the memory of a goldfish and if i dont write things down they are gone from me forever.
*Kindle- Yes that beautiful black case with Jai Courtney's lovely image on it? That is my kindle Case, Its from Caseable and its my second. My original kindle 3 also had a case from there. They are great qualty and i can post a review for them if you guys would like. Also see that Noob writen on there? Yup, tagged with NoobChic, its one of my most prized possessions... books on tap always.
*iPhone- Its an iPhone 6 and that pretty Ariel case was about $5 on ebay.
*Mimco Wallet
*Powerstick Deodorant Body Spray- Because its summer and freshness is key. Also it compliments my Summer Escada perfume so well!
*Glasses Case- Its all fancy pants Michael Kors because it came with my glasses, yay for sales at Americas Best.
*Compact Mirror- Now this is my pride and joy, and i have a bigger one as well because a full review of the mirros and site is to come. But i can say now if you are in the market for a great mirror, that lights up, for you or as a gift for someone else check out VanityPrimp! Must see and from what ive seen she now carries bad ass cellphone cases as well!
*Nude Stix Lippie- In mystic and comes in that adorable tin case.
*Makeup Bag- This beauty was an ipsy bag a couple of months ago. Sephora has a bigger version, of which i have one... super cute and durable, with alot of space for the 11 lippies i seem determined to carry around.

So that is a wrap up of what i carry around with me when im on the go. What do you guys just need to lug around every time you leave the house? Anything i need to tuck into my bag next time i go out? Leave any tips, tricks or recommendations below!

Before Bed Reads: The 100

Sunday, February 8, 2015

Reading is one of my long time loves, actually my longest love that isnt a relation of some sort. Its stuck with me longer then any boy friend and has introduced me to some of those now called life long friends. The boy who lived, the girl on fire, the hobbit, we are all super tight, and thats thanks to books.

Ive been a casual user of the site/app Goodreads for just under a year, and before i just thought it was a cute idea. Two free books and inspiration to read more later im totally addicted. Its because of the site and their new years challenge that i read three books in January. Before hat it took me a month to pick through one because i just kept letting time get away from me. Ive come a long way from the little girl who didnt want to read the word 'us' out loud i can tell you that.

A book i got for free thanks to some Kindle credits, and since im a huge fan of the CW networks show by the same name i thought it would be a nice book to try on. It cost me $2.99 when i got the book, its now up on the site for $8.99 but still that usually beats the actual hard copy of a book price if you have a kindle (Currently the paperbacks are $6.99 BUT the prices for these kinds of things are almost constantly in flux). And if you dont have an e-reader both Kindle and Nook have apps you can use with most smart phones and tablets which means you kinda have a ready made one if you cant justify the space of buying more books or just want to start reading instantly without leaving your home.

Now to the juicy stuff. How was the book? Without giving anything away because dont we all hate spoilers?

* It is an easy before bed read. And easy read in general and you feel accomplished as the pages fly by.
* The story is original enough to keep your interest and keep you wanting to find out more about this very literal post apocalyptic world.
* Its different enough from the show that fans of both wont feel bored with whats on the page.
* The characters are at the same time other worldly and yet totally human. Flawed and damaged you can relate to them.
* If you finish the book and want more theres multiple books in the series and a TV show currently airing its second season on The CW.

If you are looking for an easy read thats fun, interesting and unique i completely recommend starting The 100. If you want a sample Amazon has a sample they can send to your kindle or you can check out on the site and see if its a good fit for you.

What books are guys currently into? Anything i need to check out for my reading challenge?
