July Favorites!

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Oh it is that time of the month! The time where we lament the passing of the year, claim we dont know where all the time is going and then put on a very happy smile and share what we have simply been loving this month. But no seriously, where has the time gone??

Ok now i did branch out just a bit this month, and not just included my best in beauty, but also some things i have been loving, tv, books, movies and blogs wise. And i say we just right on into the goodies!

My Makeup favorites this month have really reflected the weather. With a couple of east coast heatwaves here in the U.S. its been hard to wear makeup for fear of it melting off. Because of that i have been keeping it very light and most days very natural.

Other Bits and Bobs-
I have been loving recently a Beauty Blogger that i found on instagram, Danielle of IRLBeauty. Shes a Scottish blogger who has only ever been engaging and sweet when interacting on instagram and her blog is now one of my favorites to check out when im in a reading mood. She is completely worth the read people and i will link her below. Another massive fav for me this month has been Who You Are by Jessie J. I might be completely late to fangirling over her but im obsessed/in love, and cant wait to hear more from her. Special attention should be paid to Do it like a dude as well as Whos laughing now.... my two favorite songs this month. And finally with the released of the new Fifty Shades of Grey trailer this last week i have been devouring this book for a second time (Dont judge me, its an only mildly guilty pleasure) and im not going to lie, im loving every minute of it!

TV-
For me this summer has been half falling for characters iver loved for years and half finding new characters to fan girl over. Ones i have done marathons for this month are The walking dead (Thank you AMC and your 4th of july marathon)as well as Once Upon a Time, Captain Swan anyone? The two new amazing bits added into my life have been Orphan Black, I now have a huge crush on Tatiana Maslany, but most recently Hemlock Grove which really just sucks you in and i cant wait to power through this second season the way i did the first!

What have been some things you guys have been loving this month??

End of summer wish list!

Sunday, July 27, 2014

With July coming to a close its hard not to think about fall coming, only one month before Memorial day closes out the summer season and everyone starts heading back to school and in out case away from the shore points. So i was thinking today about the things that remind me of summer, and ive been lusting after the last couple months, and so came my summer wishlist, which is alot smaller then i anticipated. But below will be my most wants, and hopefully haves before the cool weather sets in one all of us in the northern hemisphere.

*First is probably the newest to the list and the thing i want the most. Escada's Born in Paradise i got in a sample from an Ulta online purchase (Thank you Ulta!) and it is simply amazing. I like it even better for the summer then my current go to, Our moment.

Notes:
Green Apple, Guava, Watermellon, Pineapple, Coconut Milk, Jasmine Tea, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Musk
Style:
Tropical. Soothing. Free.

It comes in three sizes of spray, 1oz, 1.7oz and 3.7oz as well as a roller ball.

*The second is the absolutely gorgeous Betsey Johnson INTO THE DEEP SATCHEL bag. And this really speaks for itself.

*Thirdly we have the ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Amrezy Palette, which if my research is correct is available exclusively at Ulta. Its a new release and from reviews i have seen has amazing pigmentation.

*Lastly we have something thats not on the high end but hard for alot of us to find. The Elf Princess lines are held exclusively at Walgreens but not all of them carry Elf. I am on the hunt for online sources to buy and if i find any i will link them below along with all of the other things mentioned above. Elf is known for having good quality and affordable brushes and this set is limited edition so i crave them badly!

Saturday staples? Mini haul!

Saturday, July 26, 2014

This week was a rough one, very stressful for me personally and so I only wore makeup one day out of the 7, being extra tired can have that effect. So instead of the standard Saturday staples I thought I would share with you a few things I picked up at walmart today, all things that I have been aching to try (or in the case of the lipstick a color I have been searching for.

Now the new Covergirl line i have been soooo excited to try and since i cant find my Dior pressed powder i was in need of a new one. Since I know my number (115) i snagged this right away and from first swatch i think its going to be a love. Its my perfect match and will help keep my BB and CC creams firmly set, especially around my chin, which is where i have some small scaring and hyper pigmentation. Fingers crossed it works as good as it did today!

Next is the L'oreal Glossy Balm in Ginger candy. It is the PERFECT peachy nude for my duel tones lips (Again i have hyper pigmentation) It softens the overall look of my lips and doesnt need any liner or lipstick and looks totally natural. I cant wait to pick up some more of these!

Lastly is a Wet & Wild lipstick in Cherry picking. I absolutely love these lipsticks and this color is one i have been looking for a while and havent found yet, well until today. It is such a beautiful shade and i really cant wait to top this with a little Nyx butter gloss and test its staying power.

Have you beauties tried anything new lately you are super excited for?

Saturday staples!

Saturday, July 19, 2014

This week has been VERY heavy for me on the lips. With the change in weather (One 10 degrees or so but enough your skin can feel the drop in a harsh way) my lips have been feeling really dry, extra rough and needing some love. Also i finally broke out a mascara ive had for months and just realized im in love with. Below is a full list of things i have been reaching for this week.

Little Mix by Collection Full on Mascara in Perries black

Revlon Color Burst Balm Stain in Adore

Tanya Burr Lip gloss in Chic

Pop Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer in Secret Sunshine (I use as a blusher)

Too Faced La Creme Lip Cream in Nude Beach

Maybeline instant age rewind Erase dark circles

Dermadoctor DD cream

Also ive been big time obsessed with listening to Midnight Memories, Little white lies is on a loop every time i work out. Also Squats! Which i cant show a picture of, but man if i didnt do enough to REALLY feel them. So those are my suggestions to try and add into your next week, and make it as amazing as the last one was!

Makeup crush Friday! Elsa Pataky

Friday, July 18, 2014

When people say Fashion icons they customarily think someone who dresses so glamorous you cant stand it. Diane Kruger, Helen Mirren and Diane Keaton all come to mind. But for me it isnt so much the people that wow every time they strut their stuff on the red carpet, though they are amazing. For me, its the people who everyday, out shopping look comfortable but adorable, who get caught off guard and looks simple but put together. Their hair and makeup is always on point and they dress adorably all the time. So for my first Makeup crush Friday I just need to feature my every day woman crush, Elsa Pataky!

Elsa if you dont know is an actress, mother, wife, shes recently released a book, had twins and runs her own blog for Glamour magazine Spain. Shes the epitome of a busy woman and is in the news more and more recently. Shes a humanitarian and really firmly my ultimate lady crush... she totally took Angelinas throne. If you dont know about Elsa, her work, charities or anything else i firmly encourage everyone to look her up and learn more about her as well as see her films.

Now why is she my Makeup crush? As you can see form the pictures above and below weather its a photo shoot or everyday, or doing the red carpet with her hubby, her makeup is natural and flawless. Elsa doesnt do the go big or go home thing people here in New Jersey live by. She uses makeup to just highlight her natural beauty. On her own blog one of her first posts was about her go to hair and makeup, her everyday care. Though it is in Spanish i will link it below because it is so worth the translate and read.

I suddenly want a collection just like Elsa's. What are your everyday go to makeup products? And who is your makeup inspiration?

Go to summer lip looks

Thursday, July 17, 2014

I know the norm for makeup, or the typical expectations is follow the trends and the seasons. I dont do any of that! MAkeup is about having fun, expressing yourself, i like to think of it as a temporary tattoo, body art for the commitment phobic. You can do whatever, be whoever, look however you want. And that goes from movie makeup and prosthetics to everyday foundation and blush.

These have been my go to lip looks in the last month or so, and im so not tired of them yet. They all dont follow the 'seasonal trends' but they make me feel awesome and the combinations are amazing and long lasting.

Look One-
* Little Mix by Collection Lipstick in Perrie
* UrbanDecay 27/7 glide on lip liner in Midnight Cowboy
* Butter London Lippy in Tea with the Queen

Look Two-
* MUA Kiss You Lipstick in Moments
* NYX Retractable lip liner in Soft Pink
* NYX Butter gloss in Eclair

Look Three-
* MUA Kiss You Lipstick in Be Mine
* NYX Retractable lip liner in Red
* Button London Lippy in Fiddlesticks

Look Four-
* Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya * Too Faced Perfect lips Lip liner in Perfect Nude * NYX Lip butter in Apple Strudel

Now MUA and Collection arent something sold in the states (Thank you ebay) but for those of you in the UK and other areas where it is sold i will link the sites. And you can find Urban Decay, NYX, Butter London and Too Faced here in the states at the one stop shop of Ulta, who i will also link below.

I line and then fill in my lips with liner. Then slather on the lipstick of choice, and then top with gloss. How much or little of the gloss depends on how thick or sticky it is but then even with the gloss my lips are set and last for hours if i dont eat or drink anything, and even then sometimes just needing a touch up.

Do you guys have any special tips or tricks for keeping your lips in place all day long?

Benefit they're real push up liner- Review

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

This is the hip new thing, the liner that literally everyone (Including myself) has been talking about. It has been hyped, lusted after, but how does it work?

If you are a liner pro, if you can flick and let your liner set in seconds and look perfect this is the liner for you. The product comes out smoothly, the formula is amazing and doesn't budge, and the tip is pliable, will follow the line of your lashes perfectly if you have smooth control over it. It really is a miracle liner and i completely understand why it is so raved about.

So whats the down side? Why wont i be buying the full size? Because the same reasons its so amazing is why i would never be able to use it. As you can see from the picture below the line is smooth, you can make it thicker or thinner, and it doesnt go anywhere. But for someone like me, with a shaky hand and horrible eyesight/depth perception i need a liner thats more forgiving. Im no where near a liner pro, and i might need to remove, start again, fix, tweak and with this liner you just cant do that. Its a miracle that will stay on your face all day long, but when you have a shaky hand like mine that means you cant leave the house or you might look like a sad clown.

The Verdict? If you are a smooth liner pro, or even a novice with a smooth hand you need this liner in your life, it really cant be compared to any other liner in its staying power. But if you are still learning your perfect flick? Maybe pass until your more sure of your hand because this is one epically tough liner.

Perfume collection ❤️

Monday, July 14, 2014

Every lady and gent wants to smell yummy right? This is my very small but very amazeballs perfume collection!!!

*Our Moment- Bottle, Roller ball & atomizer

*That Moment- Roller ball

*Killer Queen- Roller ball

*Noir Tease- Bottle

*Too Too- Bottle

*Rebel- Bottle

*Curious- Bottle (Not pictured)

Some, like Curious and Our Moment are light, perfect for summer and spring. Rebel and Too Too are heavier, more woodsy scents and are perfect for autumn and winter, making you feel all warm and fuzzy. Its important to find scents not only that fit with the weather (So you don't feel suffocated in the heat of summer and super deep scents) but also that make you feel amazing and work with your bodies chemistry.

Tips on picking perfumes- Make sure you ask for samples, the companies give them away for free hoping you will fall in love so take advantage! Also if you aren't sure about committing to several ounces of a perfume try a roller ball (They also have testers of them in certain stores so you can get a feel so how the perfume might react to your own personal scent.)

Saturday Staples!

Saturday, July 12, 2014

Instead of the average Friday favorites here we are gonna have a little thing called Saturday Staples! The thing through the week that i couldn't live without, loved, or in the case of this week have just found and are quickly becoming holy grail status!

Now this week i didnt have a huge list, i only wore a full face of makeup twice, the other days it was very low key, lippy and that was pretty much it. BUT this week i had some solid loves which i will list below.

* Cover Girl Flamed out water proof mascara ~ Very Black Blaze

* Physicians Formula Super CC+ ~ Light/Medium

* NYX Eyebrow cake powder ~ Taupe/Ash

* Nyx Chunky Dunk ~ Orange Splash

* Cillection Little Mix Lipstick ~ Perrie

With Honorable Mentions to My makeup bag from this Junes Ipsy. Its the everyday, change out the products to take on the go for the day bag and the print is adorable. Also playing on a loop this week has been Ed Sheerans new album Multiply.... its so worth the buy, you have to listen to every song, its even better then his first album! All of these actually are very worth the try, and id be happy to do more in depth reviews for anyone who'd like to see more.

And remember to have a happy Saturday!

What's in my makeup bag

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

Yes, this mess is my goes in my purse makeup bag! This is the standard, i go into most days and when i cycle things in and out this is where the 'In' stuff goes. Yes, i am a makeup collector, i admit this haha. But If my house was burning, and the kids were already out and safe, my phone, laptop and this bag would be what i brought out of the flames with me. As you can see i have a wide range of stuff, some high end and alot of drug store. Under ill have a picture of everything more cleaned up and orderly. The fun bit about makeup is playing with all of this stuff and finding out what really works for you, your personal favorites, and then rocking them whenever you wanna feel a little bit fancy, his a blemish. Apparently i never fully grew up because these are my toys and i just want more ^_^

Makeup bags!

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

These are my 'everyday' makeup bags. Since i sadly dont have a vanity where i can lay out all my pretties i have to compartmentalize my makeup and shift through daily. I also have a nice big caboodle and one makeup bag with extras, doubles, or things that are slightly darker or lighter then i am at the moment. But these are the ones i delve into the most. The Green Ted baker holds the bulk of my everyday makeup, (No i dont clown it up, i like to try and switch out products as much as possible to try new things and not be a total hoarder lol.) The pink Betsey Johnson bag holds my brushes and my beauty blender, so they are isolated and can be kept clean. And the little one from i believe May 2014 Ipsy holds lip balms and things i might reach for on days when i dont actually wear any makeup at all. The bags themselves can change, depending on if i want to downsize my daily makeup mess or just see something new. I have way to many makeup bags, this is true. But with someone dealing with limited space this is a great solution. Also using slightly smaller bags to separate things (Shadows in one, liners in another)is a great solution if you need to clean up your makeup but dont have the space to lay it all out for your daily use on a vanity.
