August Wrap-up!

Saturday, September 5, 2015

Hey there my dears! So I had intended for this post to go live the first day of the month. But alas back to school had me a little busy so I ended up having to push my writing fun back a couple days and focus on my son starting the second grade! Exciting times let me tell you. But enough about that instead lets dish on all of the amazing books I read through the month of August!

This month I read a total of 7 books. Well 5 novels, one novella and one graphic novel. But its a great amount done, especially considering that I had a mid month reading slump. And at the end of the book list i will explain how I got out of said slump. And later on in the month ill have a tips and tricks to avoiding and jumping out of a reading slump up for you guys.

The Books-
Suicide Squad, Vol. 3: Death is for Suckers
Dark Hope
{Cue the reading slump. So my next two books were old faithful helping me out of it}
Twilight
New Moon
The Sons Of Thestian {My favroite read of the month and so far the year}
Between the Cracks
Inked Armor

I started off the month on a good reading slide and im not sure where my slump came from. But picking up some old favorites helped me to push through my dry spell. It also killed my entire TBR for the month. All the books I sorely wanted to read just couldn't be picked up. So I went with some new buys and it did the trick after I was feeling more in the mood. Because of that I wont have a TBR for September. With school starting for my son and a whole day one on one with my daughter the reading time is a little scrunched. Still im banking on having an epic September Wrap-up as well.

What have you lovelies been reading lately? Anything i simply have to throw to the front of my reading pile?

Impressive right? I mean not all novels but what ive been doing to avoid any reading hangovers is toss in a novella or graphic novel to kind of cleanse my pallet after an intense read or something that is deep fantasy. Dont have time to read these all and need my top three? An Ember in the Ashes is amazing and i will have a full review of it soon, as i will with The Wrath and the Dawn. More into contemporary? Better When He's Bad.... just a must read. Its a New Adult so not for the younger readers but still so so good. Need a YA option? Nowhere But here hands down.

What have you guys been reading this summer while you are soaking in the sun and enjoying your summer months? Have any recommendations you want to share? Leave them down below and dont forget to check out goodreads, we can be book buddies!
